Heliopolis – Border line (Terra di Confine), is a gathering of historical groups inspired by the early 17th century, It takes place every two years at the end of April in the fortified city of Terra del Sole , in the province of Forlì-Cesena.

‘Heliopolis – this is the original name of Terra del Sole – was founded by Cosimo I De Medici on 8 December 1564, with the aim of defending the borders of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
Today over 200 reenactors from all over Europe meet every year in the fortress town to relive its centennial history.

Inside the walls, an accurate reconstruction of a Renaissance military camp is animated by battles and military patrols typical of the period, thanks to the re-enactors of 30 historical groups participating.
The main events of the re-enactment are the guided tour of the fortress (morning) and the battle in the open field (afternoon).

Throughout the weekend visitors can visit the exhibition “ Medici fortresses of Terra del Sole, Sasso Simone, Cosmopoli – Porto Ferraio” at Palazzo Pretorio, and taste typical local products at the Hostaria and at the food stands inside the fortress.
