Valle d’Aosta<\/strong> is an italian region very famous and very proud for its local products.
\nSmall food and wine festivals and fairs follow one another celebrating lard, raw ham, honey<\/a>, fontina cheese and apples.<\/p>\n

One of the most important craft fairs<\/strong> in the Alps and one of the oldest is the Sant’Orso Fair.<\/a> It seems to date back to the 11th century.
\nDuring the days of the fair, in the streets of the historic center of Aosta over 1000 exhibitors present their traditional products, wooden work tools (rakes, ladders, barrels, cutlery, cutting boards, sabots, etc.), wooden and soapstone sculptures, bas-reliefs, wrought iron works and, of course, food and wine products.<\/p>\n

In Fenis<\/strong> visitors can also visit the Castle<\/a>, and there is also a Museum of traditional craftsmanship of the Aosta Valley.<\/p>\n

The barrier fortress<\/strong> Forte di Bard<\/a> is open all year long to visits and often hosts art exhibitions.<\/p>\n

Gamba Castle<\/a> is a museum with over 150 works of modern art and a large park.<\/p>\n

And perhaps not everyone knows<\/strong> that in Valle d’Aosta there is also the highest botanical garden in Europe>>><\/a><\/p>\n

Among the most curious events<\/strong> is the Arrancabirra<\/a>, a goliardic race taking place in ealry October. It can be fun just to be there!<\/p>\n
