Valle d’Aosta<\/strong>\u00a0is located in the North-West of Italy<\/strong> and and borders, among the Italian regions, exclusively with Piedmont, while towards Europe it borders with Switzerland and France.
\nThe only province<\/strong>, which also acts as the regional capital, is Aosta<\/strong> from which the region takes its name.
\nIn Valle d’Aosta people can go to ski,<\/strong> in Courmayeur, Cervinia<\/strong> and in many other places in the valley.
\nBut it also a good chance for beautiful walks in the mountains<\/strong>: you have such an embarrassment of riches here!<\/p>\n

But Valle d’Aosta is also famous for its castles,<\/strong> some of which can be visited such as the Fenis Castle<\/a>, the Forte di Bard<\/a> or the Gamba Castle<\/a> which also host art exhibitions<\/p>\n

Aosta<\/strong> is a city where nature and history merge. There are many legacies of the ancient Roman domination, including the Arch of Augustus<\/strong>, the Porta Pretoria<\/strong>, the theater,<\/strong> the forum<\/strong> and the city walls.<\/strong> The Sant\u2019Orso <\/strong>religious complex is very interesting, which in late January hosts a large local craft fair.<\/a> Handicraft lovers must visit the museum of traditional craftmanship in Fenis.<\/p>\n

\nThe flag of the Region<\/strong> is made up of a rectangular drape, vertically divided into two equal black and red sections. Its origin dates back to the years of the Resistance.
\nThe coat of arms of Valle d’Aosta <\/strong>depicts a rampant lion.
\nThe official anthem<\/strong> is the popular song “Montagnes vald\u00f4taines<\/strong>“, an adaptation by the poetess Flaminie Port\u00e9 of the song composed around 1835 by the Parisian Alfred Roland.
