Every year many historical re-enactments <\/strong>in costume take place in the cities and villages of Marche recreating the past: the Medieval Feasts<\/a> in Offagna, the Palio del Duca Sponsalia<\/a> in Acquaviva Picena, the Cavalcade of the Assumption<\/a> in Fermo.<\/p>\n

During Christmas time<\/strong>, many villages in Marche become the setting of suggestive live nativity scenes such as the Genga Living Nativity Scene<\/a> and Le Vie dei Presepi<\/a> in Urbino.
\nUrbania, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino, is the Befana’s official home and every January celebrates the National Befana Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One of the most original festivals<\/strong> is the Festa del Covo<\/a>, a religious event held every year on the first Sunday of August in the small village Campocavallo, a hamlet of Osimo (Ancon), where the typical flowers’\u00a0carpets called “infiorate” are held for Corpus Domini.<\/p>\n

Several music festivals<\/strong> take place in Marche, the Rossini Opera Festival<\/a> in Pesaro, Gioachino Rossini’s birthplace, the Macerata Opera Festival<\/a>, and Musicultura<\/a>, the Festival of popular song singer-writer in Macerata.<\/p>\n

There are many food events such as the Ascolive Festival<\/a> and th Italian Mixed Fried Food<\/a> in Ascoli Piceno, and the BrodettoFest<\/a> in Fano.<\/p>\n

Among the interesting visits<\/strong> in Marche, there are certainly the Frasassi Caves<\/a> in Genga, a huge karst cave system open all year round, and the Giacomo Leopardi\u2019s birthplace<\/a> in Recanati.<\/p>\n
