Torrone Festival in Cremona
November 21 to 29, nine days in Cremona to celebrate Torrone
Cremona is the home of torrone, the dessert created for the wedding feast of Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti.
From November 21st to 29th, 2020 the historic centre of Cremona hosts dozens of food stands where it is possible to taste torrone in all of its varieties: chocolate, pistachio, gelato, coffee, limoncello and so on. Unique recipes made with high-quality natural ingredients.
On Sunday November 22, the highlight of the festival is the re-enactment of the wedding between Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti celebrated in 1441. The parade is featuring over 150 historic characters wearing Renaissance costumes; flag throwers, drums players, ladies and knights, archers and jesters walk through the streets of Cremona, from Largo Bocacinno to Piazza del Comune, where the reenactment of the wedding of Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti takes place.
This 9 days’ celebration is attracting every year over 250.000 visitors.Go to the website Torrone Festival in Cremona
