The Ötzi Alpin Marathon is a triathlon race (mountain bike, running, ski mountaineering) dedicated to Ötzi, the Similaun Man, recovered on September 19, 1991, at the foot of the homonymous mountain.

The start is in Naturno, a small village in Vinschgau Valley about 550 meters above sea level.
The bike portion consists of a 24,2 km curvy itinerary, with a rise of 1000 m reaching the transition zone in Madonna di Senales, From this point on, participants get off their bike and wear their running shoes, leaving for Maso Corto (11,8 km). The last 6,2 km is a ski race along Sentiero dei “Contrabbandieri”, reaching the finish at Funivie Ghiacciai in Schnalstal,  at an altitude of 3200 above sea level.

Ötzi Alpin Marathon itinerary is 42,2 km long with a rise of 3226 vertical m. Both individual competitors and relay teams of three can participate.
The start for individuals is at 9 am at the town hall of Naturns, whereas, relay teams start at 10am.
