Friuli Venezia Giulia – Info

Trieste is the region’s capital. Other provincial capitals: Gorizia, Pordenone, Udine.

Enclosed by Austria, Slovenia, Veneto and the Adriatic Sea, Friuli Venezia Giulia is easy to reach from Central Europe:
– by car : thanks to A4 , A23 , A28 and A34 motorways heading for Gorizia and the Slovenian border;

– by train : thanks to two very important international lines: the Adriatic line that connects Southern Italy with Austria and the East-West line that runs along  Barcelona – Po Valley – Trieste – Ljubljana – Budapest – Kiev. Main stations in the region are: Pordenone, Udine, Gorizia and Trieste Central  From Udine station depart 5 lines in the direction of Venice, Trieste, Tarvisio, Cervignano del Friuli and Cividale del Friuli;

– by plane: thanks to Trieste and Udine – Campoformido, Friuli airports and also Venice airport in Veneto, which is well connected to major cities in Friuli.
