Events, food, experiences for an unforgettable trip to Italy

Friuli-Venezia Giulia

Friuli Venezia Giulia is located in Northern Italy, it is bordered on the European side by Austria and Slovenia, while on the national side by Veneto. It is washed by the Adriatic Sea.
Trieste is the region capital, while the other provinces are: Gorizia, Pordenone and Udine.

Because of its location, in the far north east of Italy, Friuli Venezia Giulia is an interesting region for tourists in search of a genuine experience out of the main tourist circuits. This small region offers historical houses, hotels and simple agritourisms spread everywhere between mountains full of marks of the First World War and cities full of history, like Trieste and Aquileia.

Cities to visit: Aquileia, one of the most important center of the Roman Empire and an UNESCO World Heritage; Trieste, famous for its cafes and historic buildings and where, in October, takes place, the Barcolana, a sailing regatta which brings together sailors from all over the world in a great festival with thousands of boats; Udine known for its Tiepolo Galleries and dominated by an ancient castle.

Gorizia has been appointed European Capital of Culture in 2025 along with Nova Gorica (Slovenia).
