Emilia Romagna: land of good food, hundreds of events and delicious food festivals.
In late June, Forlimpopoli celebrates the Artusiana Festival, the food festival dedicated to the most famous citizen of Forlimpopoli: Pellegrino Artusi and the city becomes the capital of eating well.
In August Castel del Rio hosts the Porcini Mushroom Fair, in September take place the Parma Ham Festival in Parma and the Piadina Festival in Bellaria.
Piacenza promotes Gola Gola Festival and there are several Parmisan festivals.
In Autumn, the “Tartufesta“ involves more villages in the Bolognese Appennini with tastings of the white truffle typical of these areas.
Not only food festivals, Emilia Romagna also offers historical re-enactments, such as the Medieval Festivalsin Brisighella: three days dedicated to ancient crafts, duels and music and the Bundan Celtic Festival, a faithful reconstruction of the Celtic population life during the Celtic period in Emilia Romagna.
Opera enthusiasts can visit the houses of two legends of the Italian opera: Villa Verdi, the house of the composer Giuseppe Verdi and the House Museum of tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
Art lovers can visit the MIC of Faenza, the largest collection of handmade ceramic works in the world. Street performers from all over the world meet every year at Ferrara Buskers Festival in August.
Many historical sites such as the Tomb of Dante in Ravenna, an interesting visit to the the last resting place of the Supreme Poet, author of the Divine Comedy.
