On March 8, the Women’s Day, the Minister of Culture has decided to offer free admission for all women visiting museums, archaeological parks and national cultural sites all over Italy.

The 8 March International Women’s Day is celebrating the women’s political, social and economic struggles and achievements. The origin refers to the tragic fire in a textile factory in the United States, which caused the deaths of over 140 trapped inside young immigrant women workers.
Besides the 8 March, some additional dates:
– April 25th – Liberation Day, which commemorates Italy’s liberation from Nazi-fascism, the end of Nazi occupation, and the definitive fall of the fascist regime.
– May 1st – Labor Day
– June 2nd – Republic Day, celebrating the victory of the republic in the 1946 referendum in which Italians had to choose between monarchy and constitutional republic.
– November 4th – National Unity and Armed Forces Day, commemorating the end of the 1st World War I (armistice date) and the soldiers who died defending Italy.
