From August 28 to 30th, 2025, the small village of Calitri, in Irpinia, (province of Avellino), hosts the 12th edition of Sponz Fest, under the artistic direction of Vinicio Capossela, songwriter, poet and writer, whose father was born in Calitri.
Sponz Fest was born as an opportunity to build “community.”
Initially, it began as a celebration of wedding rites, but over time it expanded to include themes of union, the relationship with the land, and encounters with other cultures.
The program includes music, meetings, and debates.
The theme of the 12th edition is Eden, to affirm that another world is possible. As Vinicio Capossela says, “In these times of blatant inhumanity, Sponz Fest offers an Edenic enclosure for innocence, for a sense of community, and for the protection of humanity as a heritage of humanity, to quote Silvano Agosti. If the ancient term “Eden” means enclosure and garden, let us build Sponz Eden together, our earthly paradise: a place to cultivate and defend innocence.”
