CANCELED IN 2021
5 representations of the most visited living nativity scene in Sicily
On 25 and 26 December 2021 and 1, 2 and 6 January 2022 the Living Nativity Scene of Ispica returns for its 23rd edition, offering a timeless journey through history, traditions and ancient crafts with costumed re-enactors.
The path of the Living Nativity Scene winds along some peculiar rocky tracks from the historic center to the archaeological area of Cava d’Ispica, in a setting made of stone and caves recalling the ancient Bethlehem.
All the ancient crafts are represented along the way, from sheperds brining barrels to soap makers, from the embroiderers to the tinsmith, represented with their Sicilian names.
In 2019, Ispica nativity scene was the most visited in Sicily with over 20 thousand visitors overall.
